The L4 (Live Life Like Laura) Project was inspired by, Laura Ritter-Allio, who despite passing away less than two short years after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, never lost her enthusiasm, humor or grace in the process. Her husband, Michael Allio, knew he needed to find a way to keep her spirit alive and continue to give back to the community and causes that were so important to Laura.
Laura was actively involved in Boys & Girls Clubs of the Western Reserve (BGCWR). She and Michael together served on the Aspire event planning committee to raise funds for the organization and she was eager to volunteer and make introductions in order to help our underserved youth have access to programs and tools that would help them succeed in school and in life. She served as a board member until her health and treatment required more of her time and attention.
This collection of L4 merchandise was inspired through a partnership with BGCWR. Five young, inspiring kids were asked to create a piece of art that exemplified what the Boys & Girls Clubs meant to them. The beautiful artwork was collected and handed over to professional artist, Matt Miller, to transform into the designs you see within this collection. You can see all the available designs and products here.
100% of the profits from the sale of products contained within the Boys & Girls Clubs Collection goes directly to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Reserve. Founder of the L4 Project, Michael Allio, stated, "We hope you find this collection as inspiring as the children, young adults, dedicated team of staff and volunteers that help build a better and brighter future for Akron's youth."
Executive Director, Julie M. Johnson, noted "Laura’s compassion for our youth was evident in all she did. We feel honored to work with Michael to design his first non-profit partnership and create a tribute to Laura’s legacy."
