Youth Program Club Director – Full Time

The role of the Club Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Western Reserve is to plan and lead the programs and operations of the Club in a professional manner. The director is responsible for all aspects of the Club’s performance in meeting its goals for membership, health and safety, staff development, documentation, planning, outcomes and member experiences.

Classification of Position: 40 Hours per week / Exempt Level

Hours: Monday – Friday; 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the school year and 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. during the summer. Occasional scheduling flexibility is needed.

Salary: $35,000 - $38,000

Supervised by: Director of Programs and Operations

Educational and Experiential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a successful track record of related work experience or the completion of extensive leadership development programs
  • Experience in program development and delivery preferably in either an education, human services, youth development or non-profit environment
  • Experience working with and supervising activities for youth
  • Experience in leading others to accomplish goals and tasks
  • Administrative experience and proficient computer skills required – Word, Excel, and Outlook


Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Be a leader
  • Create and support a Club culture that facilitates positive youth development
  • Ensure the delivery of fun and impactful programs by setting high standards of excellence in programming and services for the Club members
  • Manage and evaluate the Club’s staff and provide staff development opportunities
  • Ensure the Club’s compliance with health and safety requirements
  • Manage the Club’s facilities and assets
  • Develop and manage the Club’s budget
  • Market the Club and build community relationships to recruit new members
  • Plan and implement programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet stated outcome objectives and the members’ needs and interests
  • Lead assigned programs, initiatives and events for the organization  
  • Ability to gain the confidence of youth
  • Handle multiple tasks while supervising staff and youth
  • Resolve conflict among Club members
  • Drive Club vans for field trips, deliveries, and other business as required
  • Attend and assist with Boys & Girls Clubs special events as required
  • Be flexible with work hours as needed to effectively accomplish Club business and programs
  • Work in an office environment
  • Work in an environment with possible extended periods of movement and do light to moderate lifting
  • Other duties as assigned

Must be insurable with a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
