Congratulations to our 2017 Bud Rogers Youth of the Year, Malaya Owens!
Ms. Owens, who walked through our Club doors in 2015 as a shy, nervous young lady who hoped to meet a few friends, is now a phenomenal young leader who is dedicated to her Club, school, and community. She is ranked first in her sophomore class of 194 students and received 1 of 3 STEM Awards from Akron Mayor, Dan Horrigan, in 2016. Malaya has been elected by her peers for the past three years to serve as President of Torch Club at the LeBron James Clubhouse. Ms. Owens aspires to become a pediatrician and believes that success is a direct result of hard work, perseverance and willingness to adapt to change. Our Bud Rogers Youth of the Year Celebration took place on 2/11 when we celebrated Malaya and her awesome achievements!
